Latest Reviews"Crimson-purple; has a dusting of spice and pepper on the plum and blackberry fruit of the bouquet; the palate has very good texture and length, the fruit flavours enhanced by spot-on picking." Rated 94 James Halliday - 2011 Australian Wine Companion "It smells fresh and sweet, but boy, does it deliver a mouthful of yummy flavour. It's got softness, impact and character. It tastes of plums, raisins, cherries and dried herbs, and when you swallow it leaves an aftertaste of hazelnuts, spice and fresh, ripe berries. Super drinking." 92 Points. ![2010 Postcode [2800] Sauvignon Blanc](images/upload/7-2010.jpg)
Region: Orange
Alcohol: 12.5%
Winemaker: Rhys Eather
Philosophy: For the POSTCODE label we select fruit to make wines that clearly show their “postcode” by exhibiting true regional and varietal character.
Fruit Source: Sourced from the ‘Kywarra’ vineyard positioned at 800m above sea level near Orange in New South Wales.
Winemaking: The fruit was trucked to Pokolbin overnight and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine was bottled mid April 2010 under screwcap.
Winemakers notes: Orange is an emerging region of New South Wales that has been producing some remarkable fruit of late as the average vine age increases. The high altitude lends itself perfectly to varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting note: Lovely fresh tropical aromas on the nose with Apple nuances . The palate is crisp and fresh with fruit salad flavours and mouth-watering acidity.
Cellaring: Drink Now.
