"The grapes come from Kingsvale, Postcode 2587, how clever and in the salubrious surrounds of a roadside motel, or the lonely lympic village, there's nothing like a nice red to keep you company." 8.4 / 10

"New from the Kingsvale Vineyard, Hilltops region, this has earthy, blackberry and currant aromas with a hint of eucalyptus. The palate is tight and aloive, with clean intensity. Now to 15 years plus". 90/100. Top Aussie Red.

2004 Postcode [2320] Shiraz

“POSTCODE is a clever new initiative from the Eather family’s Meerea Park company and its brief is to showcase wines of varying regional characters from the Hunter and other areas. This good-value Pokolbin shiraz is ruby red and has scents of briar and caramel. Smooth, juicy plum flavour opens on the front of the palate and blueberry, licorice and poppy seed fruit characters combine with understated charry oak on the middle palate. Earthy tannins show at the finish.

2004 Postcode [2320] Reserve Shiraz

“Sweet and earthy with a mix of blackberry and raspberry fruit, smoke, pepper, liquorice, dark chocolate and well integrated toasty oak. There’s certainly a touch of the old sweaty saddle here but it works beautifully and adds complexity to the wine. On the palate medium bodied with blackberry/raspberry, dark chocolate and earthy smoky flavours. It feels smooth and supple with it’s fine grained tannins and balanced acidity; the whole package providing effortless drinking, and one not without a certain European charm and sensibility. Lovely wine.”  Rated : 90 Points.

2005 Postcode [2587] Cabernet Sauvignon

“This new range of wines refers to the fact that the best wines speak of the 'postcode' they were grown in. This wine was grown in the Hilltops region of New South Wales - a far better region for cabernet sauvignon than is generally discussed. The wine itself is minty, earthy, olive-like and curranty, the flavours both sound and satsifying. It drinks well.” Drink: 2008-2010. 87 points.

2004 Postcode [2320] Reserve Shiraz

“This is a Hunter Valley red and its lighter, funkier flavour profile speaks the region loud and clear. Medium-bodied flavours of dark cherry and game are matched to citrussy, sweaty oak. Drying (but attractive) tannins take it out. I love drinking this - but it will be a little wild for some.” Drink: 2008-2010. 88 points.

2004 Postcode [2320] Shiraz

“This is a red from the new Postcode label from Rhys and Garth Eather of Meerea Park fame in the NSW’s Hunter Valley. The Postcode label is a series of wines that clearly show their     postcode by exhibiting true regional and varietal character, according to Garth Eather. May I say it is absolutely seamlessly balanced Shiraz drinking. Red and black fruits abound along with integrated oak, smooth soft and well rounded with balance and a good expression of their Hunter valley origins. A velvety mouthfeel makes for moreish and stylish drinking, my sort of drinking. Watch this space – more good things will follow, for certain.” Drink to 2012. About $22. 92/100 – Excellent.

2004 Postcode [2320] Reserve Shiraz

“Pure Hunter Shiraz nose- crushed dark spice, fresh leather, earth and dark fruit aromas. Medium to full weight, savoury dark cherry flavours with a gentle spiciness. Not a powerhouse but has good length and seemed more composed and harmonic on the second day. Good drinking here.” 90 Points.

Grant Dodd – The Wining Pro – March 2008

2005 Postcode [2587] Cabernet Sauvignon

“The name refers to the postcode of the Hilltops region in NSW, where the fruit for the wine was sourced. Purely varietal- mint, blackcurrant, pencil shavings, a light dustiness and some firm, powder like tannins to close. Finishes dry and savoury.  Lacks a little shape through the mid palate but drinks nicely regardless.” 89 Points.
